Celebrating Latin culture, music and the American Dream with these amazing performers. We had an amazing time building an entertainment and story-telling package for a corporate client in LA.
Snow in San Diego
Errolyn Healy and I were so proud to partner with some of our favorite musicians to bring "The December Songs" to California Center of the Arts. It poured buckets that night, (and it even magically snowed on stage), but it was warm inside with holiday joy, and we loved collaborating with Anna Forget and Elizabeth Brown to share Maury Yeston's song set, and favorite Christmas classics.
My Sinatra
What a treat it was to join Cary Hoffman on stage at North Coast Rep for his sold-out San Diego tour celebrating his hero Frank Sinatra. Cary's PBS Special was adapted into a one-man biographical musical play, which was an often hilarious tribute to the Legend that is Sinatra, and the perils of wanting to become somebody else.

New Cabaret At Hennessey's, La Jolla
Come on out at 7pm, on October 28, as one of my clients, Warren DeLange, presents An Original Cabaret Show, entitled: Beverly Hills, South of Olympic. Through story and song, he shares the opulence, silliness, and conspicuous consumption that was the muse for this show. (There was no shortage of material, trust me!!) . See you there! Tickets are just $15, or 2x$20. There are 10 reserved seats for now. Dinner also available at 6pm!!

Had the chance to work with Deven May, the longest running Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys history. (He anchored the Las Vegas cast). Brought some musical birthday love to Debbie Jacobs' celebration!

Desmond Newson is one of the only people in the world who can say they have appeared in every male lead role in the smash musical, Hamilton!! He was part of the first national tour which recently wrapped and I had the delight of producing and music directing an evening of entertainment at the Grand Del Mar. What a great guy and talented performer! Thanks for bringing your 'awesome' to San Diego, Desmond!

54 Below in NYC
It was so cold in NYC this week that my phone shut down just as the Uber driver was trying to find me at JFK. But nothing could dampen the excitement of performing at the legendary Feinstein's 54 Below with friends Errolyn Healy and Michael McCorry Rose. This show and this trip were a highlight of my year, and I even made finally made it to Hamilton (into THE room where it happened!)

What a fun show - if it comes to your city, catch it!!
ALS Fundraiser at Qualcomm, Jacobs Hall
Megan Spector is a force of nature! Do not let her size fool you! When she was 12, because her Aunt has ALS, she decided to put together a huge fundraiser to "Strike A Chord for ALS" which raised over $31,000. I was honored to be the Music Director for the second year. As Megan heads off to Tulane to study, keep an eye out for her to continue to do great things!

Dancing Queen
Such a joy to see my sister Kera O'Bryon on stage with Virginia Musical Theater, as Donna in Mamma Mia. We worked a bit together in preparation for this role, and she killed it!
Staglin Winery Concert
My wife and I were so pleased to join Christian and Melissa Hoff in Napa for a private concert of 60's classics in Napa. Our hosts at Staglin Winery were so delightful, and we were so thankful to hear that their property had been spared from the wildfires that broke out not long after.

Miss You Like Hell
When a whip-smart, deeply imaginative teenager agrees to take a road trip with her free-spirited Latina mother, neither can imagine where it will take them. Featuring compelling original songs that are every bit as diverse and eclectic as America, is a new musical that exudes the joy, love and frustration of being a family in a changing country. Especially timely these days; Directed by the lovely and talented, Lear deBessonet. Long-time client, Cashae Monya, got her professional start at LJP 6 years ago, when Broadway Tony Winner, "Memphis" was born, and she's back in style in this world premiere! Closes Dec. 4!

Congrats to some current and former students: Brielle Mussomeli, Megan Spector, Cashae Monya, Jazmine Rogers, Joanne Barber
End of the Rainbow
Judy Garland's London Comeback Tour was more trainwreck than triumph. I'll be Music Directing the show, and playing the part of Antony, Judy's pianist and confidant, in this wonderful musical produced by Intrepid Theater Company. Directed by Christy Yael-Cox, at the Lyceum Theatre, alongside the uber-talented, Eileen Bowman as Miss Garland.
Big Fish
This rarely-tackled, and totally magical musical makes its West-Coast-premiering splash by Andrew Lippa at Moonlight Amphitheater to close out the summer season. I'll be playing Amos Calloway, (the Danny Devito character if you saw the Tim Burton version), half Ring-Master, half Werewolf! Just another day at the office. I hope you get a chance to see this beautiful production, under the stars through September 26th. Directed by Steve Glaudini, Music Direction by Elan McMahan, and Choreography by Karl Warden. (pictured, Josh Adamson, yours truly)

Footloose
The last time I played this role, I didn't have a daughter of my own, so the pain of this father-daughter conflict cuts right to the heart. I hope you get to the chance to see this barn burner of a musical, and this incredibly talented cast on stage, at the Birch North Park Theatre, through October 14th. Directed by Robert Marra.
Beau Jest
Critic's Pick! Moonlight Stage presents James Sherman's crazy romantic comedy, "Beau Jest," and I am thrilled to join this hilarious cast as Joel, in this unraveling family chaos. Directed by Christopher Williams.
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Shakespeare meets Cirque du Soleil. (That's how I've been describing it anyway - how else do you explain a piano that levitates and is played upside down 20 feet up, while fairies dance around on air!?) Christopher Ashley directs this mischevious tale, with Eric Stern music directing a 22-piece orchestra playing lovely music by Felix Mendelssohn and the wonderfully inventive Broadway composer, Mark Bennett. I'm the Associate MD/keyboardist for this magical production you will love! See it in the Potiker at La Jolla Playhouse, through August 22nd.
Bonnie & Clyde
Working on this world premier musical has been such an amazing experience. I'm playing rehearsals and will be taking over Piano-Conducting the orchestra from the extraordinary, John McDaniel, through the rockabilly, blues and gospel score. This musical is from the creative team of Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde), Don Black (Sunset Boulevard) and Ivan Menchell (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and directed by the wonderful Jeff Calhoun. It's headed to Broadway! At La Jolla Playhouse, through December 20th. Stark Sands and Laura Osnes (pictured) are only two of the perfectly cast roster on this one.
